The Harricana River, James Bay, a blue line on the Abitibi map that rises to a mythical North, that of the Crees and the Inuit. Paul Lemay, experienced canoeist and François Ruph, confirmed adventurer, but new to canoeing, have been dreaming about it for a year. Choice of four other partners, study of topographic maps, collection of some available information, on June 25, 1972, the three canoes filled with luggage were launched under the bridge of Amos. The presentation follows, in images, the day-to-day journey of more than 500 kilometers of pleasure and suffering, pitfalls and vicissitudes, interspersed with potentially dramatic incidents.
